Gaza From a Different Lens
Lubaba Khalid took these photographs during her visit to Gaza in 2018, with the aim of offering a fresh perspective on the region and immortalising the precious moments spent with their family. “I've been lucky enough to visit Gaza many times, and my intention was to showcase its beauty to a wider audience. While some of the buildings may have been destroyed in the ongoing genocide, the series also captures the everyday joy and creativity of life in Gaza. From the unique perspectives of my cousins, to the inventive ways of playing, such as my younger cousin's swing, each image tells a story of resilience and humanity. This is the Gaza that holds my fondest memories, and it's the Gaza I want to share with the world - a place of love, resilience and vibrant community spirit.
